Chapter 20: Shut the Door...of Not

I will place of his shoulder the key to the house of David; what he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.

ISAIAH 22:22

Reflection Questions

1. Do you usually seek indications as to whether God has closed or opened a particular door, or do you tend to step through whatever doorways look good to you?

2. Are you facing an important decision right now, and you need to know whether God has closed or opened a particular door? Have you been seeking Him consistently?

3. Has there ever been a time when God closed a door that you wished was open, but later you were He closed it?

  1. 1. I always knew God had a plan for me but I guess I just thought it was the path I was on. I never really thought about having to ask him everytime I had a choice to make which was the right way to go. I just choice what I thought was best for me and my family and assumed that would be the path God wanted me on. I am learning this is not always the case. Because I have chosen to make my own choices throughout life I may have to make more decissions with the help of God to get back on the path He desires for me.

    2. I am not seeking anything particular right now but I am always asking God to open new doors for me to serve him.

    3. UGH I was engaged and cheated on. At the time I had no idea why God would break my heart like that. Now when I look at his life and my life I am so thankful that door closed.
