Day 1: More "Cratching"

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.

Romans 8 :26

1. Do you ever get caught up in trying to pray "right"? Are you relieved to know there's more than one "right way" to pray?

2. If you were to think about presenting yourself before God with no plan for how to proceed , and simply let His Spirit move your heart in the direction you should pray, how would you feel? Why not try it now?

  1. 1. I don't think I try to pray right cause most of the time I am just talking. I do try to remember that it is not all about me and that I have to praise and show my thanks while praying as well. I have recently started just taking quick moments through the day to pray, like while driving and the crazy person cuts me off I simply pray that they arrive safely to where ever they are rushing off to or for the person asking for money outside Wal-mart. I may not have anything to offer but I have started deleoping my relationship with Christ so much that now I feel as though I can just pray for those others.
    2. I love meditation so coming before God to just sit in his presence and have peace sounds perfect to me.

  2. 1)I usually try to pray right from my heart, but there have been times when after listening to others pray that I feel like I forget things, or am not praying for the right thing in that particular issue. I am learning to pray instead of praying that "this will stop or that that won't happen" just to pray for God's will, or for him to show me what I need to see in a matter or to see something differently. I'm learning that I need to pray that when things do not go the way I want them to that I am in complete acceptance of God's will and that He provide me a peace about it. I trust Him to get me through the rough spots, and I just pray that I am always in His will. I am learning not to try to pray like others, but just to pray from my heart.

    2) I have actually gotten on my knees and said nothing. I HAVE actually just sat there and let the Holy Spirit do the work for me. I do find that it is just amazing to be before God, and sometimes that is just as refreshing as speaking to Him. I will pray, though, that the Spirit move me to know what to pray. I have prayed, but not consistently, that God tell me what He wants me to pray for so that I will be in His will.
